Utah State Feis 2011

June 24th - 25th
Venturing into the summer months Acadamh Rince made a stop at the Utah State Championship and Feis in Salt Lake City, UT. It was a successful weekend with numerous wins in both teams and solos; a great way to end the school year for most, and a great lead into the 2011 North American Irish Dance Championships the following week. We would like to acknowledge Amy Davidson who obtained her 2nd prelim win in the U15 Championships advancing her status from prelim champion to open champion! We would also like to recognize all our participants and winners (to which all Acadamh Rince dancers are winners to us all) for their amazing display of fine competitive dance. Big wins in AZ and CO for June!

June 4th
Congratulations to Amy Davidson at the Grand Canyon State Feis for her first title win in preliminary championships U14! and to Elizabeth Bowers for her 7th place win in preliminary championships U13! Great job to all of our competitors in AZ!

June 10th - 11th
The 2nd weekend in June was a fun filled trip to Monument CO for the annual Pike's Peak Feis! Friday night was teams night which meant great competition for our junior ceili and choreography! Our girls performed beautifully with "Midsummer Night" and came aways with 2nd place.

Solos started early Saturday morning with our younger champs. The day continued with many successes in both prelim and open championship. We are proud to announce the addition of our newest open champion, Nicole Burnside, who won her 2nd first in the preliminary championships U15! We are excited to welcome her to the open family and congratulate all our champion participants and winners...

Feis SLC 2011

May 14th
For our first year Feis SLC 2011 was a huge success hosted by our Irish dance Academy. Formerly known as the Webber Academy, the new school name Acadamh Rince ("Dance Academy" in Irish) was reveled to the public.

Feis SLC was also our time to revel our very first competition choreography "Midsummer Night" performed by our junior championship team. This was the first official choreography competition to be held in the state of Utah and Acadamh Rince is excited to expand ourselves to competitive choreography routines at the 2011 Western US Oireachtas in Aneheim, CA!

The feis went well for our talented dancers as Acadamh Rince took home many golds and title wins in both teams and solos! A BIG congratulations to Elizabeth Heninger (U13) and Kylie Farrenkopf (U14) who obtained their 2nd wins advancing them to open championship status! World Championships 2011 in Dublin, Ireland

This was our school's 2nd year sending dancers to the World Irish Dance championships; the only CLRG certified school in the state of Utah to have qualifiers for the 2011 World Championships. Out of our 4 qualifiers 2 of our talented dancers made the trip to Dublin, Ireland, for some amazing competition.

Congratulations to Shannon Becker (Girls 13-14) and Carolyn Webber (Girls 16-17) who represented the Webber Academy, as well as the state of Utah, with honor! Both dancers performed beautifully and we couldn't be prouder as a school! Here is to the future of your dance careers and to your sucess!

April was a busy month for the Webber Academy of Irish Dance in the competition scene. Our first
April venture was Feile Denver in Colorado. Congratulations to Shannon Becker who placed 6th overall in the open championships U14, and Carolyn Webber who placed 2nd overall in the open championships U17! Well done!

The next weekend our dancers headed south to sunny Las Vegas, NV, for the first annual Celtic Crown Feis. It was a long hot day at the fairgrounds but our dancers where able to pull through with some fantastic results in both teams and solos. A HUGE congratulations to Alexis Farnsworth (U12 Open Championship) Kylie Farrenkpof (U14 Preliminary Championship) and Camille Ensign (U16 Preliminary Championship) who came in 1st place in their championship!!! Congratulations to Camille Ensign for receiving her 2nd prelim win advancing her to Open championship status!

It was a beautiful Saturday in Kerns, UT for the 2nd annual Shelley Wasatch Winter Feis. The Webber Academy had a great time and returned to our homes with many victories. In teams the Webber Academy captured 10 firsts, 6 seconds, and 5 thirds with many other top 5 finishes to follow! Also a big congratulations to Carly and Rivers who wowed the audiance and the judges with their Bieber themed valentines 2 hand special!
We would like to announce our two newest prelim champion dancers Aidan and Haley! Welcome to championships and good job on your sucesses in the grade levels.

Leaping into 2011 with Open Champions

Saturday, January 22nd

... was the date for the Colorado Winterfeis where our dancers performed lovely. Congratulations to Shannon Becker, who ranked 3rd in the Open Championships U14, and took home 1st place in the treble reel special. A big congratulations to our own Jessa Hunsaker who aquired her second win in the preliminary championships moving Jessa to Open Champion status! Well done to all our dancers who competed, and we'll see everyone soon with results for the Shelley Wasatch Winterfeis on Saturday, February 5th.
